If you have recently had an article published in a Liverpool University Press journal, you can register with Kudos and begin using the service immediately, completely free of charge.
What is Kudos and why should I use it?
Launched in 2014, Kudos is a start-up service designed to help researchers and their institutions and funders maximize and measure the visibility and impact of their published articles.
Kudos provides a new way for authors to use social media to engage the digital community with their research. By creating 'profiles' for their published articles and adding short titles, lay summaries, impact statements and supplementary content, authors can make their articles more engaging for a digital readership accustomed to strategically browsing the millions of potential papers at their fingertips.
For proof of why you should use the Kudos tool, take a look at the below Case Studies from our very own authors:
On average, authors who make use of Kudos' tools receive 19% higher downloads of their work.
How do I begin?
If you are a Liverpool University Press author and want to begin using Kudos, please first register for a Kudos account.
Once your account has been successfully set up, you will be able to start 'claiming' your published articles, enriching them with content, and sharing them out to various social channels. You will also be able to measure the impact of your activity through comprehensive personalised metrics.
For complete information on how to get the most out of your publications using Kudos, please download our Kudos User Guide.
Add Kudos lay summaries for a selection of LUP journals
For a selection of journals, LUP gives authors the option to add a short plain language summary to their submission in ScholarOne Manuscripts. This simple, non-technical explanation or lay summary makes it easier for people to find and understand your work. This is not the same as the abstract. Once your article has been published, this summary will be made available through Kudos.
